Parmesan Cheese Crescents

2 ¼ c flour
2t baking powder
½ t salt
¼ t baking soda

½ cup shortening- pastry blender mix well
¾ c buttermilk- add all at once but mix until just moist
If you don't have buttermilk then mix 1 TB lemon juice with 1c milk and let stand for 5 minutes.

1 T. butter
1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
2 T. fresh parsley
Grated Parmesan

Knead 10-12 times
Roll out 13" circle
Brush with melted butter
Sprinkle Cheese and parsley
Cut into 12 wedges and roll
Put on an ungreased baking sheet
Lay seam side down
Brush with milk
Sprinkle extra cheese on top

Bake at 425 for 15 to 20 minutes
Remove from sheet and serve warm.
